Best Reserve Kit
You can have a good time in Reserve by going with any medium-range weapon (like an assault rifle). This is a map that you’ll want to spend your time in the buildings and their underground sections, so carrying a long-range weapon might not be the best choice — although it could give you a hand while moving from one point to the other in the open area.
For close quarters, pick any pump shotgun that you like. The M3 Super 90 is a useful gun since you can choose between the pump-action and semi-automatic use of it. The 590A1, an only pump-action shotgun, is another solid choice thanks to its accuracy and ergonomics.
To know more about what guns and pieces of equipment to bring, you can check our Weapons Guide, Best Armor Guide, and Best Pistol Guide pages. Also, never forget that the most important thing about a weapon is the bullet you choose, so check our Best Tarkov Ammo Guide for some useful tips.

Tips for Playing in Reserve
- The most complicated part about Reserve is learning about all its buildings with their multiple floors structure, which is also accompanied by underground floors. The area with the chopper is basically the main interest point since you can access most of the important buildings on the map.
- Always check the chess piece around the walls of a building. This will be the easiest way of identifying them and remembering which one you’ll want to enter the next time. (Each building has a different type of loot).
- Glukhar, the boss of Reserve, has six different points of spawn. He can appear near the Armored Train area, around the K buildings, inside the black Pawn, the black Bishop, the black horse, or the white horse buildings, and in the center of the Bunker Underground.
- The boss won’t be alone. He has six guards that will defend him if you engage in combat. They are deadly, and it will be hard to win a fight from long distances. It’s best to take out Glukhar first in a short-range fight — he’s extremely effective in long-distance battles.
- You will visit this map for various quests. Most of the valuable items will be in the underground section of the main buildings (the Pawn and Bishop ones).
- The AI Scavs will be mostly on the streets, surrounding buildings, but keep in mind that some of them can be inside the buildings or even in the underground section.
- It’s recommended to use most of the extraction points that are on the borders of the map — the underground ones are located in heated zones.
